in Daily Music Picks

Obadiah Parker is a folk/pop band from Scottsdale, Arizona comprised of Mat Weddle (vocals, guitar), Jessie Young (piano/keyboards, trumpet, vocals), and Daniel Zehring (bass, vocals). The band has recorded an EP and a live CD, both of which contain a mixture of covers and original material. Weddle has also appeared in a popular video, propagated on the internet, playing an acoustic cover of Outkast‘s “Hey Ya“.

Weddle, Young, and Zehring first met through a local church over ten years ago and developed their interest in music into a functioning band together. They cite bands like Counting Crows and Dave Matthews Band as their influences.

Idioteque

This is a cover of Radiohead’s version of Idioteque.

Who’s in bunker?
Who’s in bunker?
Women and children first
And the children first
And the children
I’ll laugh until my head comes off
I’ll swallow till I burst
Until I burst
Until I

Who’s in bunker?
Who’s in bunker?
You have seen too much
I haven’t seen enough
I haven’t seen it
I’ll laugh until my head comes off
I’ll swallow till I burst
Until I burst
Until I

Here I’m allowed
Everything all of the time
Here I’m allowed
Everything all of the time

Ice age coming
Ice age coming
Throw them in the fire
Throw them in the fire
Throw them in the

Ice age coming
Ice age coming
Let me hear both sides
Let me hear both sides
Let me hear both

We’re not scared of mongering
This is really happening
Happening
We’re not scared of mongering
This is really happening
Happening
Mobiles quirking
Mobiles chirping
Take the money and run
Take the money and run
Take the money

Here I’m allowed
Everything all of the time
Here I’m allowed
Everything all of the time

Here I’m allowed
Everything all of the time
Here I’m allowed
Everything all of the time

Here I’m allowed
Everything all of the time
Here I’m allowed
Everything all of the time
Here…
