This is a very inspirational songs. It reminds me of the struggles my own family went through when I was a boy.Someone should ask utube what;s wrong with this song. Maybe it opened a can of worms?

i haven’t heard that song since my dad came home the final time from veit-nam. my little brother use to sing with my moms 45 almost daily. sometimes he would have tears streaming down his face woundering if our dad would make back one last time. he did and my mom stored the record. my brother has it now. thanks for the chance to hear it again.

DJ, thanks for posting this on your site when YouTube blew it up. I can’t imagine why they did because there isn’t anything at all offensive about the song.
This is one of those songs that you remember from childhood and it makes you so sad to realize that for some folks, things haven’t changed much since. Somehow it seems that from the time Jimmy Carter took office, our country just went into a stalemate of sorts, never progressing in too many ways that are important. Perhaps President Obama can help bring those changes back to the forefront.
