I’ll Be Around ~ The Spinners

The Spinners are a Detroit, Michigan-based soul vocal group (active since 1954), and most popular during the 1970s. The group still tours as of 2009. The band is also listed occasionally as The Motown Spinners, or (after they left the Motown label) The Detroit Spinners. These were their monikers in the UK to avoid confusion with a British group called The Spinners.

This is our fork in the road
Love’s last episode
There’s nowhere to go, oh no
You made your choice
Now it’s up to me
To bow out gracefully
Though you hold the key
But baby

Whenever you call me I’ll be there
Whenever you want me I’ll be there
Whenever you need me I’ll be there
I’ll be around

I knew just what to say
Now I found out today
All the words had slipped away but I know
There’s always a chance
A tiny spark will remain
And sparks turn into flames
And love can burn once again

Whenever you call me, I’ll be there
Whenever you want me, I’ll be there
Whenever you need me, I’ll be there
I’ll be around, ya

Whenever you call me, I’ll be there
Whenever you want me, I’ll be there
Even if I have to crawl
I’ll be there
I’ll be around
Just call me on the phone
I’ll be there
I’ll never leave you alone
I’ll be there
Just call out my name
I know you know you know
I’ll be around

About DJ Allyn

DJ Allyn is a burned out radio guy who went on to become a burned out sound engineer for a famous (but deliberately un-named) Seattle area grunge band. Currently working as the Director of Sound for a couple of television series being filmed in North Vancouver, British Columbia. I am always on the lookout for interesting videos, old music, and fun.
