Marmalade were a successful Scottish pop/rock group, from Glasgow in Scotland, originally known as Dean Ford and The Gaylords between 1961 and 1966. They changed the group name to “Marmalade” in 1966. A later version of the band (from 1974), exists to this day, with only Graham Knight remaining from the original members.
Reflections Of My Life is a hit single of Scottish band the Marmalade, written by lead guitarist Junior Campbell, and singer Dean Ford. Released in late 1969, it was the band’s first Decca release following their “pop” years at CBS.
A haunting, cleverly crafted timeless song, allegedly written with Vietnam connotations, the song still holds up today, as can be verified by well over one million “hits” in total for the title on YouTube.
The track features lead vocal by Dean Ford backed by strong harmonies, and includes a “reverse tape” guitar solo by Campbell.

Reflections of my life
Oh how they fill my eyesThe greetings of people in trouble
Reflections of my life
Oh how they fill my eyesOh my sorrow
Sad tomorrow
Take me back to my own homeOh my crying (Oh my crying)
Feel I’m dying, dying
Take me back
to my own homeI’m changing, arranging,
I’m changing,
I’m changing everything
Everything around meThe world is
a bad place
A bad place
A terrible place to live
Well, but I don’t wanna die …Oh my sorrow
Sad tomorrow
Take me back to my own homeOh my crying (Oh my crying)
Feel I’m dying, dying
Take me back
to my own homeOh my sorrow
Sad tomorrow
Take me back to my own homeOh my crying (Oh my crying)
Feel I’m dying, dying
Take me back
to my own home
