Originally known as Groundswell when they were in their teens, they were a five-piece band that started in 1992, transfoming into the trio known as Three Days Grace in 1997.
From Norwood, Ontario, Canada, many of their songs were inspired by living in a place where the population was around 1500 people. The bandmembers were still in high school when they had their first gig, and they performed anywhere that would accept them — including opening for a movie.
The trio eventually relocated to Toronto, where they were introduced to Gavin Brown, a producer, by their old manager. They played a private set for him and by the time it was over, they were signed onto a contract.
All of them are recovering addicts, and many of their songs have a dual meaning.
Riot
http://djallyn.org/media/three-days-grace-riot.flvIf you feel so empty
So used up, so let down
If you feel so angry
So ripped off so stepped on
You’re not the only one
Refusing to back down
You’re not the only one
So get upLet’s start a riot, a riot
Let’s start a riot
Let’s start a riot, a riot
Let’s start a riotIf you feel so filthy
So dirty so fucked up
If you feel so walked on
So painful so pissed off
You’re not the only one
Refusing to go down
You’re not the only one
So get upLet’s start a riot, a riot
Let’s start a riot
Let’s start a riot, a riot
Let’s start a riotIf you feel so empty
So used up, so let down
If you feel so angry
Just get upLet’s start a riot, a riot
Let’s start a riot
Let’s start a riot, a riot
Let’s start a riot
