Bush was a Post-Grunge band from England, formed in 1992, and released their first album, Sixteen Stone in 1994.
They named the band after the place they used to live, Sheperd’s Bush, London. In Canada, they were known as BushX because there was a 1970s band named Bush and they owned the Canadian rights to the name. In 1997, Doomenic Trojano, the leader of the earlier band agreed to let them use the name in exchange for donating $20,000 to the Starlight Children’s Foundation and the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund.
Sixteen Stone had four hits, “Everything Zen”, “Little Things”, “Comedown”, and “Glycerine”.
Glycerine is probably the most well-known song Bush did — especially the following version that Gavin Rossdale did during a heavy storm at the 1996 MTV Spring Break.
Little Things
http://djallyn.org/media/bush-little-things.flvI bleach the sky every night
Loaded I’m wrong, and further from right
Spinning around, two howling moons
‘Cuz they’re always there, whatever I doThe river is loaded, I’ve been there today
Took it some questions, she does me again
I’d die in your arms, if you were dead too
Here comes a lie: we will always be trueGoing up and coming down
Scratch away way way way way, it’s…The little things that kill
Tearing at my brains again
Oh, the little things that kill
The little things that killBigger you give, bigger you get
We’re boss at denial, but best at forget
The cupboard is empty, we really need food
Summer is winter, and you always knewGoing up and coming down
Scratch away way way way way, it’s…The little things that kill
Tearing at my brains again
Oh, the little things that kill
Tearing at my brains again
Oh, the little…(GUITAR SOLO)
I touch your mouth; my willy is food
Addicted to love, I’m addicted to fools (shit!)
I’ve killed you once, I’ll kill you again
We’re somber and crude – welcome my friends to…The little things that kill
Tearing at my brains again
Oh, the little things that kill
Tearing at my brains again
Oh, the little…Here come the new things
Here come the new…
