Let it Rock – Kevin Rudolf

Kevin Rudolf is an American singer-songwriter, and record producer.

Rudolf grew up in New York City; his mother was a singer. He played in local bars and with amateur bands as a teenager and began recording his own music after he bought a computer and keyboard.

In 2001, Rudolf got his first break with the release of self-written pop record Binocular under the pseudonym Binocular.  The lead track, “You”, was featured on TV series Smallville. In 2003, Rudolf began working with Timbaland and played guitar for Lil’ Kim’s single “The Jump Off”.  In 2004, still using the “Binocular” pseudonym, Rudolf released a cover version of “Maybe You’re Gone,” written by singer-songwriter Danny Scherr, for the soundtrack of movie The Girl Next Door.

Rudolf began releasing songs under his own name with the “Let It Rock” single, which appeared on his album In the City released on November 24, 2008. “Let It Rock” was used as the main theme for the WWE’s 2009 Royal Rumble.

Also, it was used in America’s Best Dance Crew (Season 3) by Quest Crew in week 2. It was also the theme song for the World Wrestling Entertainment’s Royal Rumble 2009 pay per view. The song was also remixed as a Super Bowl song (“Steelers Rock”). It is also used to promote the 2009 NBA All-Star Game, where Rudolf performed the song between the Foot Locker Three-point shootout and the Sprite Slam dunk contest. Rudolf also performed the song during the swim wear portion of the 2009 Miss USA Pageant. It is also played at Seattle Mariners and New York Mets home games with clips of the players before the game. In addition to this, it is played before home games for the Cleveland Cavaliers. It was also featured in Nickelodeon for an AD for World Wide Day of Play, A Nickelodeon event encouraging children to turn off devices such as the television, mp3 players, or video games, to go play outside. Was danced by Julianne Hough, Derek Hough, Chelsie Hightower, Lacey Schwimmer, and Artem Chigvintsev in a Dancing with the Stars Season 8 result show. Leicestershire CCC used the song for their Twenty20 campaign in 2009, replacing Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now”. I see your dirty face
High behind your collar
What is done in vain
Truth is hard to swallow
So you pray to God
To justify the way you live a lie
Live a lie
Live a lie

And you take your time
And you do your crime
Well you made your bed
I’m in mine

Because when I arrive
I, I’ll bring the fire
Make you come alive
I can take you higher
What this is, forgot?
I must now remind you
Let It Rock
Let It Rock
Let It Rock

[Kevin Rudolph]
Now the son’s disgraced
He, who knew his father
When he cursed his name
Turned, and chased the dollar
But it broke his heart
So he stuck his middle finger
To the world
To the world
To the world

And you take your time
And you stand in line
Well you’ll get what’s yours
I got mine

Because when I arrive
I, I’ll bring the fire
Make you come alive
I can take you higher
What this is, forgot?
I must now remind you
Let It Rock
Let It Rock
Let It Rock

[Lil Wayne]
Yeah!
Wayne’s world
Planet Rock
Panties drop
And the tops
And she gonna rock ’til the camera stop
And I sing about angels like Angela (rock)
And Pamela (rock)
And Samantha (rock)
And Amanda (rock)
And Tamara (rock)
“Ménage à trois” *
I’m in here like bitch what’s up
Mechanic, me, I can fix you up
I can dick you up
I can dick you down
Shorty we can go wherever just pick a town
And the jewelry is louder than an engine sound
Big ass rocks like off the ground
Dirty like socks that’s on the ground
Weezy

Because when I arrive
I, I’ll bring the fire
Make you come alive
I can take you higher
What this is, forgot?
I must now remind you
Let It Rock
Let It Rock
Let It Rock

Because when I arrive
I, I’ll bring the fire
Make you come alive
I can take you higher
What this is, forgot?
I must now remind you
Let It Rock
Let It Rock
Let It Rock

Just Let It Rock
Let It Rock
Let It Rock
Let It Rock…
Let It Rock…

[Lil Wayne]
I’m back like I forgot somethin
I’m somethin
Ruling Rock rubbin’ rap running’
Miles like I’m trying to get a flat stomach
Like Wayne the personal trainer
My aim is perfect I’ll bang ya
Period, like the reminder

[Kevin Rudolph]
I wish I could be
As cruel as you
And I wish I could say
The things you do
But I can’t and I won’t live a lie
No, not this time.
